Premier Prix in piano at the Paris Conservatoire, Frédéric Lagarde is also the prizewinner of ten international competitions in France, Spain, Portugal and Italy. As such, he was mentioned in Le Point magazine as one of the most prominent French pianists of his generation.
He has been invited to numerous festivals in France - 'Folle journée de Nantes, Pablo Casals in Prades, 'Présences' (Radio France, Paris), Radio France-Montpellier - and, more widely, in Europe: Paris (Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Salle Gaveau), London (Queen Elisabeth Hall), Lisbon (Teatro Nacional), Porto, San Sebastian, Florence, Geneva (Amadeus Festival), Strasbourg (Opéra National du Rhin), Toulouse, Nice, Luxembourg, Düsseldorf, Stuttgart, Vienna, Prague (Rudolfinum, Martinů Hall), Bratislava, Krakow, Ljubljana, Bucharest (Philharmonie), Istanbul…, and North America (Carnegie Hall in New York…). A fervent chamber player, he is in particular a member of the Dumky Trio and the ensemble Calliopée, of which he is both pianist and co-founder. His various recordings have obtained the highest distinctions in the national and international press ('Chocs' of Le Monde de la Musique, '5 Diapasons'…).
